World Relics Grand Opening transforms salvage into “high-art” setting a new trend for home and garden enthusiasts.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA— June 22, 2006--The intoxicating smell of lavender in the air, the thrill of a Hungarian hay wagon, the sound of water from a 10-foot hand-carved French fountain, towering chateau gates and the mystique of 200 year-old Turkish urns are among the first things visitors encounter when they walk through the warehouse door of World Relics. The adventure shopper and designers have a new feast awaiting them of the unique, unusual and extraordinary antique and contemporary architectural elements, garden accessories and vintage furnishings.

This time trend is about a scavenger, a new kind of scavenger; one who found his way not by following the trends of the future, but rediscovering those of the past. P.W., proprietor and self proclaimed scavenger has proven that “in style” is forever about making what is old new again.

Situated in the SOMA warehouse district of San Francisco’s Potrero Hill, they announced the opening of his 3300 square foot warehouse just steps from the Design District where his renowned style is now open to the public and here to stay. Once you find this tucked away “garage of treasures” you immediately understand the concept of time travel as you are met with the remnants of civilizations past. This world, unfamiliar to most, is now available to all without even leaving the Bay Area.

Featuring rare antique architectural items, objects crafted from European and American reclaimed materials, as well as an extensive selection top-quality contemporary stone garden ornaments and fireplace mantles items are not only impressive but a fraction of the cost of antique pieces. Each item is masterfully crafted in Europe using old-world traditions inspired from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries offering unparalleled quality and style to outlast the ages.

“The spirit, inspiration and foundation of my collection have always been bringing the beauty of the past to light. These long lost and forgotten pieces of history can be spectacular additions to both interior and exterior décor,” noted Deese. As an admitted wanderer, he began first collecting in 1997 from the flea markets in Europe where he discovered the wonder of incorporating these timeworn pieces into usable additions for the American home. He has been featured in major style magazines like Architectural Digest, and in 2002 American Airlines on board magazine Celebrated Living, named him one of the top ten luxury shopping choices in the world. Formerly known as France Express, he has launched a recent reintroduction as World Relics. “This new brand allows us to meet our customer’s needs better, faster and with more diversity in price and selection. Expanding opening borders including Hungry, Spain, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands only enhance what we can find.” Deese continues to operate his popular website making it possible for shoppers to dream their way through a fantastic adventure anywhere in the world. This is where style begins. This is World Relics.

Like the legacy of those who first owned these treasures, he finds that one-of-a-kind piece that will transform a client’s home. He goes on to say “When you shop World Relics, you shop eras gone by. World Relics shines light on the past moving their creations front and center for all to see and discover.”

Deese works with architects, contractors, interior designers, and the public on an appointment basis. For more information on the opening Thursday June 29 at 3:00 PM call 415.409.6000 or log onto www.WorldRelics.net.
